I am more than happy to let you have a go with my Bonsai App. It has worked brilliantly and allowed me to keep track of over 700 of my bonsai using just my laptop. I have also run it on my tablet (using a memory stick) when working outside.
My daughter developed this in her spare time. She is not a professional software engineer or designer so please be aware that it will have limitations. It comes in three versions to allow for the difference in currency: $ or £ or Euro (so please specify).
Some people send a financial gift in appreciation of the work done by my daughter (I can buy her dinner and name one of my trees after you). You will require a version of MS Access (2007 or later) installed on the computer. Be aware that you may need to ‘enable macros’ for this to function; dependant on how Microsoft Office is set on your PC. If this is the case, then one suggestion is:
“To allow macros: right button the file (on your mouse), select properties, select the general tab, and tick the ‘unblock’ box, now Microsoft allows the macros.”
I have uploaded a series of tutorials that should provide all the answers you require on its use. Please provide feedback by adding comments on the YouTube video as this helps me with the algorithm and shows other subscribers that it works.
If you do not have Microsoft Windows I believe that it may work on Open Source equivalents such as Open Office and Libra. I would strongly recommend you research this yourself as I have no direct experience of transferring this database to any other system.
